Guest speakers join our class
James Bible, a local private practice attorney and president of the King County Chapter of the NAACP, spoke to our class about his work as a defense attorney. He emphasized that understanding an individual's life history is essential when determining sentencing, because it plays an important role in the decisions that individual makes. Kimberly Gordan, an attorney in private practice and mentor for James Bible also came to share her stories about working as a defense attorney. She also brought to our attention SB 5019/ HB 1235 "The Records Privacy Act of 2011," which will protect the privacy rights of arrested but non-convicted individuals. Photos by Candace Doyal.
